Can only see his wife through the isolation glass wall of the Intensive Care Department At Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Mr. Doan Huu Tuyen (born 1954, residing in Dien Xa Nam Truc Nam Dinh) seemed unable to bear it. His legs collapsed and his hands clung hopelessly to the glass of the hospital room…< /p>
With sunken eyes and dark circles due to many sleepless nights, Mr. Tuyen confided to us with tears in the corners of his eyes:
“After Tet, I saw that she had malaria. But I subjectively bought temporary fever-reducing medicine to take. On February 28, she suddenly fainted and borrowed 3 million from her neighbor. I took her to the emergency room and the doctors transferred her here.”
< p>In the hospital room of the Intensive Care Department, Ms. Tran Thi Sen (born 1958) is still fighting for her life with death every second.
According to Mr. Tuyen at the end of February, Ms. Sen Complaining about a stomachache, he took her to the district hospital and then to the provincial hospital for treatment for a week, but her illness did not improve but showed signs of getting worse.
Ms. Sen’s health deteriorated rapidly. She was urgently transferred to Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Doctors immediately conducted a consultation and emergency surgery to save Ms. Sen’s life was performed shortly after.
Two surgeries saved the unfortunate woman’s life, but because the disease had many complicated changes, the cost was high. Her treatment was so great that it was truly beyond the imagination of her relatives.
After 40 days of intensive treatment, the cost had reached more than 200 million VND. To save his life, he needed another 400 million VND while his grandparents’ family was so poor that their life as a farmer was not enough, so how could they have anything to save?
Mr. Tuyen said He was treated until he was 43 years old and gave birth to a child. Overcoming his fate, the son always tries his best to study. He has just graduated from college and is trying his hand at a computer company.
“From the day his mother lay here, the boy left. At night, he went to the hospital to take care of his mother. He had just graduated and was on probation, earning 7 million VND. His mother was sick and had to work hard all day, only daring to eat 2 pieces of bread.” Mr. Tuyen’s eyes filled with tears.
Mr. Tuyen said he had to sell 2 pigs and a herd of pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs, and rice for a total of more than 35 million VND, but it was nothing compared to the amount of money it took to save his wife’s life.
So He regardless borrowed money from everywhere. He borrowed with interest and wherever he could borrow, he borrowed. He said that Ms. Sen’s illness is still very serious, but she can no longer borrow money.
Talking with reporter Dan Tri Doctor Nguyen Thanh Tung, Department of Intensive Care Medicine Hanoi Medical University said: “Patient Tran Thi Sen has duodenal fistula after surgery to remove the entire right kidney, right ureter and part of the bladder due to kidney cancer.”
Doctor Thanh Tung added that the patient is still very seriously ill and must continue intensive resuscitation, then will be consulted for duodenal resection surgery and chemotherapy.
As a person who directly campaigns to find all sources To support patients, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom, an officer of the Social Work Department of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, shyly shared:
“Patients who require long-term treatment are estimated to need about 400 USD. million dong more. The past few days have been a journey of life and death, and the doctors and nurses have tried their best to keep the patient alive.
Having come to this stage, if we stop, the patient will definitely die. and previous efforts seem to have gone down the drain, so we really hope you read Dan Tri and others philanthropists join hands to help. Help patients have more opportunities to live and return to their families.”
