Eden Hazard announced his retirement at the age of 32

Hazard joined Real Madrid under a contract worth up to 150 million pounds just 4 years ago, but his La Liga career could not flourish after a series of injuries. After his contract with the White Vultures ended at the end of last season, the Belgian player decided to rest and now he officially announced his retirement.

Announcing this news on Instagram Hazard wrote: “You have to listen to yourself and stop at the right time.

After 16 years and more than 700 matches I have decided to end my professional football career. I was able to realize my dream of playing and having fun on many pitches around the world.

During my career I was fortunate to meet managers and coaches. Great coach and teammates thank you everyone for those wonderful times I will miss you all.

I also want to thank the clubs I played for LOSC Lille Chelsea and Real Madrid at the same time thank RBFA (Federation football Belgium) because of my Belgian team.

A special thank you to my family, friends, advisors and those who have been by my side in both happy and difficult times.

Finally, A big thank you to my fans who have followed me all these years and for your support everywhere I play.

Now is the time for me to enjoy happy moments with my loved ones and have new experiences.”

Hazard only made 76 appearances for Los Blancos. 7 goals and only 10 matches in the 2022-23 season.
