Honda discontinued the Clarity EV electric car model

Honda said it will phase out the electric version (EV) of the Clarity but retain the battery-powered version fuel and plug-in hybrid versions.

Even though Honda has equipped this model with high-class furniture offers an attractive price policy, but it is not enough to compensate for the disadvantage of low travel range (only 89 miles equivalent to 143 km) after each electric charge.

The Clarity line was launched with a set of 3 versions; including: plug-in hybrid version, fully electric vehicle version and fuel cell vehicle version. In particular, the Clarity’s interior resembles the luxury car line Acura, not regular Honda cars, because the car manufacturer wants to attract potential customers.

However, the short travel range is the point that makes this model unconvincing to customers, especially compared to cheaper models but with much more range such as the Chevy Bolt. EV (383 km) or Tesla Model 3 (386 km).

Honda said it will focus more on next-generation electric vehicles that are preparing to go into production and is also planning to introduce a new line of fully electric vehicles that are more attractive to consumers in the US in the coming years.

The remaining two versions of the Clarity line will continue to be marketed, although the Clarity version runs on fuel cells will remain limited to the state of California as fueling facilities are not currently available in other areas. The plug-in hybrid version of the Clarity is still the best choice in this class with an electric-only range of 75 km with a pure electric engine as long as users are satisfied with the slightly unusual exterior design. of the car.
