On the afternoon of April 16, Tim Cook boarded a private plane to leave Vietnam, ending a 2-day visit to Hanoi with a busy work schedule. Apple CEO’s next destination is Indonesia.

Here, Tim Cook had a meeting with Indonesian President, Mr. Joko Widodo. During the talk, Tim Cook said Apple would consider building a manufacturing plant in Indonesia.”

“We discussed the President’s desire to manufacturing in Indonesia and that is something we will consider” Tim Cook shared with reporters after meeting with President Widodo.

“I think the possibility of investing in Indonesia is endless.” This country has many great places to invest. We are investing and trusting in this country,” Tim Cook added.

In the past 3 years, Apple has accelerated the process of diversifying its production base to reduce dependence on into China. Before Indonesia, Vietnam and India are considered the two most potential destinations that Apple is aiming to gradually move production lines out of China.

After the Covid-19 pandemic Along with China’s closure policy, Vietnam has become the country that benefits the most when Apple’s main product assembly partners move production lines from China to Vietnam.

Apple’s major manufacturing partners such as Luxshare Foxconn Compal GoerTek… currently operate many Apple product assembly factories in Vietnam, creating jobs for more than 150,000 workers.

Products such as MacBook iPad, AirPods headphones… are currently assembled in Vietnam.

Previously, during Tim Cook’s visit to Vietnam on April 15 and 16, many people predicted that Apple would promote investment and expansion. expanding product distribution in Vietnam in the context of Apple products losing appeal in China.
