Meritorious Artist Thai Son: “Everyone plays the main role, so who plays the supporting role!”

Meritorious Artist Thai Son (born 1983, native of Hung Yen) was originally a Cheo student at the University of Theater Cinema Hanoi. Graduating in 2006, he joined the Vietnam Cheo Theater. Besides Thai Son soon showed his knack for comedy roles.

Recently, he “fell in love” with series film of VTV with a high frequency of character appearances A Bridegroom, played by him in The War Without Borders, has won a lot of love from the audience. He is not afraid to share these interesting experiences with Dan Tri reporters.

The role allows for adventure

Many viewers believe that although his role as A-in-law appears less, he is more prominent than the main cast in the film. How do you feel?

– Because I’m not the main character, I think maybe it’s easier for me to impress the audience. The character A-in-law that I play has a messy, old-fashioned personality and is drunk and debauched every day. For A-R-in-law, the most important thing in life is to have wine to drink. A character is portrayed in contrast to the majority, so perhaps the audience will pay more attention?

In this role, I confess that I have the freedom to be creative and act freely without being constrained by the character. It’s okay to be “cheesy” but “blunt” is also good!

Meanwhile, actors playing border guards like Mr. Hoang Hai or Mr. Viet Anh have to follow the script more, not less. adventurous like Son’s role. Being praised as outstanding, I feel happy because I have another role that impresses the audience!

So what fate connected him and the character? A Husband?

– When the film crew ofUnlimited War invited me to play the role of an alcoholic, I secretly thought that maybe they had been observing me very closely. Surely they also saw that Son had the “addictive” side of the character so they invited him (laughs)!

However, this is not the first time I have played an alcoholic. Let me show off a bit once won a medal in a professional theater performance for his role as a drunkard.

Even though this role is his forte, he must have had his own difficulties when playing the role. Are you participating in the movie?

– This is probably the movie where I have to travel the most and the distance is the longest. I just drive myself from Hanoi to Moc Chau then from Moc Chau back to Hanoi.

There were days when I completed my scene until late at night then drove myself back to Hanoi to continue my plans the next morning. Others are unfinished.

This season in the mountains there are often more sudden rains than in the lowlands, so there are scenes that we have to postpone up and down. I myself got caught in the rain quite a lot. There were times when the crew had finished rehearsing and preparing the cameras. It started to rain again, and the crew was busy packing up their things…

After a few times like that, the film crew got winded. Give me a new name Rain Prince. Oh, rain is because of the weather, how can I make it rain (laughs)!

Every role is worth appreciating

Contact Continuing to appear in VFC’s “hot” movies and always leaving a good impression on the audience, are you under pressure for future movies?

– Actually, recently I’ve been participating in more dramas and I feel very lucky because every drama is “hot”.

My two roles in the movies Under the shade of the tree of happiness and My family is suddenly happy both made more or less positive impressions in the hearts of the audience. That was also a bit of pressure when I accepted later roles.

Thai Son was very afraid of being boring in the eyes of the audience. I think being loved by the audience is more than “promoting” but trying to “stay in the rankings” is even more difficult. Therefore, I will turn pressure into motivation to continue to have impressive roles.

Currently, he appears in 2 out of 3 currently airing dramas, “Special medicine”. black” and “War without borders”. Are you afraid that the two characters’ personalities will overlap?

– Both of these films were shot near each other. At the present time, I’m still working on both films in parallel, but the characters’ personalities are very different, so I’m not afraid of mixing them up.

For me, being able to embody colorful characters is both a wish and a dream. It’s been a long time since I’ve been lucky. This character is different from the previous character, this role is not the same as that role, so it’s a good thing to avoid being bored in front of the audience. I’m never afraid of running out of creativity. I confirm that I can still play many different roles!

With such impressive acting But if you don’t appear in the main role, do you feel like you’re being unfair?

– Everyone plays the main role, so everyone plays the supporting role! Every role is worthy of respect, no matter how big Whether it’s small or long or short, it all requires concentration and effort. As long as you do well, the audience will still love you if you play a main role or a supporting role.

However, the roles are different. Most of your performances on VTV have humor in common. So do you see this as a limitation in your acting?

– Humorous roles are the color. My forte is not a limitation in acting. As an actor, of course everyone wants to play many different roles and live many lives. In the very near future, the audience will I see Son has a role with a different color than what people are used to seeing.

Participating in dramas, I only feel like I “get” a lot. Vietnamese television now has many really good movies. As an actor participating in film projects I am very proud! Because I can act, make many people laugh, and love many things.

Taking on roles Is it easy for you to get out of a role when you act funny?

– Whether it’s a main role or a supporting role, every actor has to try his best and focus on his work You must clearly distinguish your reason from your emotions.

In everyday life, when you encounter suffering, you must know how to let go. So in acting or filmmaking, you must let go The role of holding on to emotions until it hurts. And when I play a humorous role, I have to “scrape” as many positive emotions as possible (laughs).

In the characters. Which character you took on VTV recently, are you most satisfied with?

– To be honest, I like every character and I also feel a bit regretful when watching it again, thinking that if only If I can act again, maybe I can act better. Maybe it’s just greed and perfectionism, but all in all, I observe that the audience also praises me a lot.
