Thanks to positive feedback from listeners, Ngot continued to record All Around , which was also the group’s first song to be broadcast on radio stations in Vietnam.
In 2015, the group released their debut album titled Ngot. This is also the time when bassist Phan Viet Hoang officially joined the group after returning from studying abroad.
Starting as a student band, Ngot’s initial audience was mainly young audiences. However, they are not restrictive and are always conscious of creating diversity in music.
Ngot’s songs are loved because of their philosophy of combining close-minded everyday life, reflecting many young people’s thoughts. . Many viewers said they felt like they met their “heart” through music by Ngot.
At that time, when Vpop was overwhelmed by boring love songs, Ngot’s music is a fresh breeze. The songs were recorded with simple processing, sincere lyrics and natural singing. From an indie music group (independent music) with small activities, Sweet creates a buzz on social networks and the music spreads to a large young audience.

Even though they are luckier than many independent artist groups, Ngot still faces many difficulties and pressure to make a living in their artistic journey.
The members once admitted that their performance income was just like a normal salaryman. The group must consider the problem of profitable investment and then use the proceeds to reinvest and survive.
However, Ngot is always steadfast in the spirit of “if you play, you must play to die.” international”. “A stage with an audience watching you is fun. It doesn’t matter if it’s crowded or if it has spectacular sound and light to flourish. Thanks to that spirit, Ngot’s later albums such as Ng bthg (2017) and 3 (2019) and Gio‘s (2022) received enthusiastic support from the audience.
In the albums Ng bthg is a special product of the group with many hits such as Wild Cat Em Lately... The song You’ve Been These Days helped the band win the “Song of the Year” and “New Artist of the Year” awards at the 2018 Yearly Contribution Awards. This is also the first time an artist Indie artists were honored with important categories.
From a student music group, the 9X boys have become one of the leading indie artists in Vietnamese music. They have been recognized by critics as being loved by the public, receiving many music awards and having “sold out” live shows with thousands of audiences.

Sudden disbandment and incomplete farewell
Original lineup Ngot’s team has changed members twice. In 2016, guitarist Tran Binh Tuan broke up with the band. Nguyen Chi Hung (music production guitarist) took his place in recording and performing but also left the group in 2021. Then the band welcomed a new member, Hoang Chi Trung, playing keyboard.
Year 2023 Sweet Celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special 90-minute performance at the Monsoon Music Festival stage. Team leader Vu Dinh Trong Thang calls this “the first 10 years of salmon always wanting to swim upstream.
