Portraying the historical picture of Southern Vietnam

The book Portraying a picture of the history of Cochinchina by author Nguyen Quang Dieu, published by Omega Plus, gives readers a different perspective on the people and land of ancient Cochinchina through records of event history.

The work has nearly 150 valuable vivid paintings/photographs/maps, of which 24 pages of color paintings/photographs and some images are introduced for the first time.< /p>

Portraying a picture of the history of Cochinchina interpreting historical stories that took place in ancient Cochinchina from the time of Gia Long Minh Mang Le Van Duyet to the time the French invaded mausoleum and establishment of colonial regime.

Historical stages gradually emerged from the time Nguyen Anh hid in Gia Dinh before the attacks of the Tay Son army  through many historical upheavals and culture stopped in the Great Depression of 1929-1933.

Saigon was caught up in the crisis The world’s economy and people’s lives are in turmoil, with streams of people leaving one after another. During the great crisis, they held out and waited for a new normal state.

In that same situation, Saigon people still maintain a generous spirit of sharing community responsibility in many forms, from different good. 

Portraying a picture of the history of Cochinchina is written in a soft tone, ensuring clear citation of sources and methodical presentation of content.

Nguyen Quang Dieu is 40 years old, born in Tam Ky (Quang Nam) and currently lives and works in Saigon.
