As a key transportation project of the Capital, the West Thang Long route plays an important role in connecting and developing the western area of Hanoi. This is the most modern planned, invested and constructed radial urban road in Vietnam, with a total planned length of 33km, cross-section width of 60.5m with 10 lanes, connecting from Vo Chi street. Currently, the section of the route passing through Tay Ho district, Bac Tu Liem district with a total length of about 83km has basically been completed, with section 2 alone (the section connecting Pham Van Dong street to Van Tien street Dung) is being urgently deployed by the People’s Committee of Bac Tu Liem district. According to information updated on August 23, 2023, the cross section (30m wide) of section 2 (located from Noi Bridge through the People’s Police Academy to Van Tien Dung street) has been basically completed.
After completion, the District People’s Committee will divert traffic from Pham Van Nghi Street (existing) to move on this route to continue construction of 1/2 cross section of the remaining road. .
The presence of the West Thang Long road is not only a mechanical connection but also has great significance in the socio-economic development process of districts in the west of the capital, helping Synchronously accelerate the urbanization process in localities with routes to improve people’s material lives and stabilize society.
