At the tournament in China, Thuy Linh played impressively to reach the quarterfinals, with the most outstanding victory being Unexpected victory over Rio 2016 Olympic champion Carolina Marin (Spain). This achievement helped the number one player in Vietnam accumulate 6,050 points, increasing 2 places from 22nd to 20th world with 48,200 points.
In the rankings for players qualified to attend the 2024 Paris Olympics, Thuy Linh has accumulated more 6,050 points increased 2 places from 16th to 14th with a total score of 44,900.
The badminton singles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics has 38 spots for men and 38 spots for women. For each gender, there is one place reserved for host country France and two special places. The remaining 35 slots are determined based on position on the “Paris Ranking” starting from May 1, 2023 and ending on April 28, 2024.
List of candidates Tennis players who win tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics will be officially announced based on the “Paris Ranking” on April 30, 2024. Currently, Thuy Linh is ranked 14th with a total score of 44,900 and she will continue to compete in international tournaments to maintain a high ranking, thereby achieving her goal of winning tickets to Paris.
