Thanh turned 8X and journeyed across Vietnam just to “suck nails” along the way

These days, Tay Ninh is entering the season of scorching heat, but Mr. Tran Duc Trung (born 1989, residing in Quynh Thang commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province) is still diligently pushing the 3-wheeler. He spreads his homemade wheels all over the roads to absorb nails and metal on the road.

Mr. Trung said that he had planned and cherished a long time to push his bicycle across Vietnam. To make the journey, he saved up some money and mentally prepared himself well.

Watching TVreading the newspaper every day, Mr. Trung sees many tragic traffic accidents. Part of the cause is metal objects, iron nails, etc. falling.  From then on, Mr. Trung cherished the dream of going on a journey across Vietnam for the purpose of propaganda and personally cleaning up these dangerous objects.

“I have to call this a project because The idea for the trip has been around for a long time, but it wasn’t until now that I was able to do it. When I saw the accidents, I was heartbroken. At that time, I just wanted to make a trip one day to somehow contribute to the cause. “We can help alleviate this situation” Mr. Trung said.

To make this trip, Mr. Trung decided to take a bus to Ca Mau cape – the end point of the strip of land. in the shape of the letter “Sho” facing North.

His luggage, in addition to a backpack containing some essential items, also includes a rather special vehicle capable of attracting nails thanks to a magnet plate about 60 meters long. 70cm is designed to lie under the vehicle, hanging close to the road surface. When Mr. Trung pushes the car, the magnet will attract nails or metal scattered on the road surface.

The special car has the words: “Tran Duc Trung – A walking journey through Vietnam, sucking nails in 63 provinces and cities.” “.

The first day of walking, pushing a 3-wheeled cart to suck up nails on the road, because he was not used to it, Mr. Trung was very tired and felt exhausted.

“I still remember the first day just walking After about 9km, I started to get used to walking over the next few days. On average, at this time, I can walk about 30km along national highways,” Mr. Trung shared.

” Do things that are beneficial to society, set a goal and conquer it, don’t give up. Every path is arduous and difficult… I believe you can do everything. Just be persistent, just don’t do anything that violates your conscience and doesn’t break the law,” Mr. Trung confided.

It is known that the young man from Nghe An started his journey from September 18 until now. Nearly 2 months passed through 13 southern provinces and cities including: Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Hau Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, Tien Giang and Long An.

Up to this point, he had traveled more than 935km, the car had sucked up more than 6kg of iron nails. These days, Mr. Trung is traveling in Tay Ninh province.

Mr. Trung plans to celebrate Tet Quy Mao 2023 in Lam Dong province then continue his journey with the destination being Mong Cai city (Quang Ninh Province). Mr. Trung expects the duration of this special journey across Vietnam to be 3 years.

With good intentions, wherever he goes, Trung is welcomed and welcomed by local people. warm-heartedly help. At the same time, he also took the opportunity to visit famous places in the areas. Not paying much attention to the issue of time, Mr. Trung was quite tired, so he could camp and cook like he was on a picnic.

Talking about his difficulties during the hiking journey, Mr. Dinh Trung said : “The only difficulty I have is finding a place to sleep every night. During the day, I often receive support from many people as well as friends and relatives with words of encouragement, water, food and money. I will receive and share Share it with many others who need it more and have more difficulties on the road.”

Regarding travel expenses, Trung does it himself and saves money every day. If he runs out of money, he will apply for a job when he has the funds and continue traveling.

Although my walking and pushing a cart to suck up stray nails on the road is a small action, I hope it is an additional voice to help people raise awareness of traffic safety. When this journey ends, I will return home to get married,” Mr. Trung added.
