The case of a dog owner beating a man who protected his child: The victim decided not to reconcile

On February 10, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Dung (34 years old), the victim in the case of a dog owner beating a man protecting his child, said that Mr. Dao The Vinh (dog owner) found him and family to apologize, but until now he still refuses to meet.

According to Mr. Dung, he went for an injury assessment on February 6 and will have the results in about 10 days. The family will then work with a lawyer to make further decisions. Regarding his health, he has gradually recovered and has returned to work.

“Even though Mr. Vinh’s side has come to apologize, my family and I will get to the bottom of the matter and decide. no reconciliation,” Mr. Dung said.

Earlier on the evening of February 2, Mr. Dung and his son were waiting for the elevator at Q7 Saigon Riveside apartment building (Dao Tri street, Phu Thuan ward, district 7). At this time, Mr. Dao The Vinh’s dog walked out of the elevator without a muzzle and approached Mr. Dung’s son.

Fearing that his son would be attacked, Mr. Dung reminded Mr. Vinh to keep the dog. But there was no response, so Mr. Dung used his foot to push the dog aside. Immediately, Mr. Vinh used his hand to hit the victim hard in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

Not stopping there, Mr. Vinh also made threats before leaving. Mr. Dung’s son witnessed the incident and immediately panicked and burst into tears.

Mr. Dung then reported the incident to the Phu Thuan Ward Police Department (District 7). Through diagnosis at French Viet Hospital, Mr. Dung had swelling, bruising and scratches on his left cheek; torn left eyelid requiring 5 stitches; broken left lower incisor fragment; There is swelling in the right chest area. Up to now, the victim said the wound is still painful and has to go to the hospital every day for cleaning.

After the clip of the above incident was posted on social networks, many people were indignant, saying that the man Assault must be held responsible before the law.

Regarding the incident, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee office has sent an urgent document to the People’s Committee of District 7 to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently verify and handle the case. Strictly prosecuted according to the provisions of law for the act of releasing animals without muzzles in contravention of regulations and intentionally causing injury.
