In addition, purchased myrtle fruits can also be given as gifts for children to make sim juice and jam… to serve people on hot summer days in the sunny and windy Central region.
The season for sim ripening is right. When students are on summer break, many children go to the hills to pick myrtle to earn extra income for their families. Every day a person can pick 10-15kg depending on the time. With prices ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 VND/kg, each person’s income is 250,000-450,000 VND/day.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, a resident of Hung Phuc commune, said that the myrtle fruit is picked by the owner. mainly sold to city residents. Vinh brought it home to soak in wine to make juice. At the beginning of the season, newly ripened myrtle with few people picking it will cost 30,000 VND/kg but gradually decreases to 25,000 VND at the end of the season. Climbing hills to pick myrtle is difficult, but in the countryside, having an extra income like this is also very fun.
