The tragic fate of the cast of the movie “Do you remember or have you forgotten” (2)

Le Cong Tuan Anh – An extremely lonely artist”

Referring to the male lead role Le Cong Tuan Anh, director Nguyen Huu Phan shared many emotional words: “Le Cong Tuan Anh is a very lovely person. First, I have to say that about him.” Huu Phan recalls that when he invited Le Cong Tuan Anh to play the role of musician Trinh Cong Son in the movie “Do you still remember or have you forgotten?” he brought Le Cong Tuan Anh to meet Trinh later when Le Cong passed away and was interviewed by the press. Musician Trinh shared that “When I met Le Cong Tuan Anh, I saw in him an artist. An extremely lonely artist.” Director Nguyen Huu Phan shared that he must have had a good feeling to accept it shows such loneliness in Le Cong Tuan Anh.

In the memory of director Nguyen Huu As for Le Cong Tuan Anh, he is a gentle, handsome guy who smiles a lot, but deep inside he is a person filled with sadness. “Le Cong Tuan Anh is very confidant. That virtue is very similar to Northern people. In the South, people often invite each other to drink and drink but rarely confide. Only Northerners are close and share their thoughts with each other. That’s why I often invite Le Cong to go to the North to play and work.”

The last movie Le Cong Tuan Anh participated in was the TV series Sweet and cruel (also directed by Nguyen Huu Phan). Director Nguyen Huu Phan always remembers the day Le Cong Tuan Anh committed suicide. He happened to (as fate would have it) have a business trip in Ho Chi Minh City. That morning, he planned to meet Le Cong at noon to eat and drink. But before he could call the actor, the director heard the news that he had passed away at the hospital.

“I rushed to the hospital. I still remember at that time the TV at the hospital was still broadcasting the movie Sweet and Cruel. Hearing the news of Le Cong’s death, fans came in large numbers. Someone even told me to call Mr. Khai Hung to discuss with VTV to stop broadcasting Sweet but deceitful to bring the film to theaters to make a profit. They came up with a way to make money right away like that. Of course that can’t happen. I went to Le Cong hospital to prepare for burial. He’s so young. Even now, when I think about it, I still feel very sad…” – Director Nguyen Huu Phan recalls.

At Le Cong’s funeral, many fans and friends came. “They called Le Cong’s name, they cried, they sang, they drank wine… Just like the way Southern people mourn. That night I went home and wrote a eulogy to say goodbye to Le Cong. The next morning, I represented the Northern artist and gave a eulogy in front of his casket. Half of the mourners burst into tears. The next day many newspapers republished my eulogy. The eulogy was written with all my sincere feelings for him” – director Nguyen Huu Phan shared.

Many years have passed in the memory of the film director “I still remember Or have you forgotten?” Le Cong Tuan Anh is still close and close like a precious brother, a “lovely, smiling, sharing and very lonely” brother.

There was a time when Nguyen Huynh was considered the next generation of stars of the flourishing market film genre. He has all the “necessary conditions” to become a new star: ideal appearance, talent and youth. But shortly after a few films, Nguyen Huynh “disappeared” from the screen.

Information about Nguyen Huynh entering a drug rehabilitation center was posted. Public opinion regrets a young talent. Nguyen Huynh went to rehab twice and lost his whole life. In 2007, a reporter who visited Nguyen Huynh regretfully recalled his golden past with art. When Nguyen Huynh entered rehab for the first time, he dreamed and hoped to start over. In the camp, he enthusiastically participated in cultural movements, passionately wrote scripts to stage plays, he still cherished, he would write scripts about his life, he would play the main role and bring the play to the big stage… Nguyen Huynh is determined to do it again. But the death of his 6-year-old child from cerebral palsy completely defeated Nguyen Huynh. He was silent in sadness and melancholy.

Nguyen Huynh passed away quietly sadly in May 2009.

May 2009 when all the bitter scenarios about Nguyen Huynh’s unfinished life passed away. His funeral was different from all the funerals of other artists who were alone and quiet.

The young actor’s life once held so much promise. Until now, that still leaves painful questions about why – for what reason did Nguyen Huynh push himself into tragedy?
