Due to not being able to win against U23 Myanmar in the second round of the U23 Southeast Asia tournament, U23 Cambodia was pushed into a difficult position. They need to overcome U23 Thailand in the decisive match to have a ticket to continue. However, the team from Chua Thap country could not make a surprise.
After 90 minutes, U23 Cambodia lost 0-2 to U23 Thailand. With this result, U23 Thailand won the ticket to continue with 9 points after 3 matches. U23 Cambodia ranked second with 4 points but no longer has a chance to compete in the 2nd position group with the best results (not counting the results of the confrontation with U23 Brunei).
