When fishing, the angler scoops water into about half a bottle, mixes it with flour, then throws the water bottle into the river. Based on the aroma of flour, the fish will get into the bottle and cannot get out. At this point, the fisherman just needs to pull the fish out of the water.

“Fish “For those who live in groups, once they smell the powder, they rush in very quickly. Sometimes it’s normal to catch 2-3 fish in one cast,” Mr. Thiet added.

According to Mr. Tran Kim Bao (30 years old, residing in Hoa Vang district), mullet is in season around the beginning of October. This is the time when the most anglers gather and is also when the fish go upstream to spawn. Each kilogram of fishing fish sold on the spot ranges from 30,000 – 50,000 VND depending on size.

“Mullet Although there are many scales and bones, the fish meat is very thick and delicious. In addition to being an entertaining hobby in our free time, it also brings a little source of income for us. With a price like that, one day you can earn a few hundred thousand dong if you have a good harvest,” Mr. Bao happily boasted.
