From a distance, the five mountains are close together like five fingers stretching straight up into the sky, looking majestic, majestic and mysterious.
According to Mr. Manh Chien, administrator of Forum of Mountaineering Enthusiasts Association beautiful rocky mountains Steep cliffs and rich vegetation have brought majestic and majestic beauty to Ngu Chi Son, making it known as the most majestic mountain in the Northwest.
We took the sleeper bus. located late in the evening from Hanoi and arrived in Sa Pa at 5 am. From Sa Pa, we rented a 16-seat car to take us to the meeting point in Suoi Thau 2 village, 25 km from Sa Pa, to meet local guides and porters.
Departed from the foot of the mountain at 10 am after two hours of continuous climbing through bare hills and sparse forests in a group of 6 people with experienced feet. The climber stopped for lunch in the old forest at an altitude of 2400 m.
At this altitude the climate and vegetation change. The weather is colder and more humid than fog and clouds spread everywhere.
After an hour lunch break to recharge, we continued on the road. From here we started into the forest of large trees and had to overcome steep slopes continuously. After two hours of climbing, we reached the rest camp at 3:00 p.m.
According to Mr. Cu A Cho, the Mong ethnic guide, our group climbed steadily and 2-3 times faster than other groups. hours.
The tent, which can accommodate about 20-25 people, was built by Mr. Cu A Cho and some friends at an altitude of 2600m 2 years ago. Previously, tourists had to set up tents to sleep. There is no stream around the area where the tent is located, so water for daily use is taken and carried by porters from the ravine halfway down the mountain range.
After arriving at the hut, half of the group members stayed to rest and conserve their strength to go to the top to watch the sunrise the next morning. The remaining half decided to go to the top to watch the sunset.</p >
After about an hour of continuously climbing through an almost steep slope and a windy ravine, our group reached the top of Ngu Chi Son, the 15th highest mountain in Vietnam but ranked first in terms of altitude. difficult to climb.
The highest of the five peaks of Ngu Chi Son was recently opened by local people at the end of 2017 by installing a number of wooden and rope stairs to help visitors get here safely. The stainless steel spire on the top was also newly installed at the end of 2018.
A sea of floating clouds welcomed us at the top of Ngu Chi Son. Before that, although we had conquered many of the highest mountains in the Northwest, we had never witnessed such a beautiful sea of floating clouds, so we were very excited.
There are no tall trees on the top of Ngu Chi Son, so Can see very far around. From here you can clearly see the peaks of Fansipan Nhiu Co San Bach Moc and Lao Than. The scene at the top is so beautiful, like being lost in a fairyland, it’s hard to describe in words or pictures.
We wanted to stay as long as possible to admire the beautiful scenery and enjoy every moment there. However, afraid of the dark and cold weather (the temperature at this time was only about 5 degrees Celsius), we left the peak at 4:30 p.m. On the way down to the tent, we walked and watched the sea of clouds and the sunset gradually disappearing in the distance. We returned to the tent to rest at 5:30 p.m.
After dinner, we quickly went to rest to preserve our strength for the next day to climb to the top to watch the sunrise and then go down the mountain.
The next morning we woke up at 4:30 a.m. and left the tent to go to the top at 5:00 a.m. It was dark so we had to use head flashlights to climb. Reaching the top at 6am, we were able to watch the sunrise appear. It is very windy and cold at the top, only about 3-5 degrees. Frost appeared on the top the night before.
We stayed at the top for more than an hour admiring the scenery and taking photos, then went back to the breakfast shack to get our things and went down to the foot of the mountain. Going from the shack to the foot of the mountain only took less than 3 hours, less than 2 hours compared to going up.
When we arrived at the foot of the mountain at 11:30, we got on the waiting car and went back to Sa Pa. From there, take a sleeper bus to Hanoi, ending the 2-day-1-night trek to Ngu Chi Son with many unforgettable impressions.
